Penrith Sainsbury’s are asking local charities to write to them if they would like to be considered as Sainsbury’s Local Charity Partner for 2015/16. It's part of their Local Charity scheme, which will be relaunching soon and gives a registered local charity the chance to receive a years’ worth of support from Sainsbury’s colleagues, whether it's fundraising, volunteering or helping to raise further awareness of their cause.
Local charities that have benefited from the scheme in previous years are Eden Sight Support, Lazonby and District First Responders, Eden Carers and Eden Mencap.
Penrith's Store Manager, Tony Gale, says: "We're looking forward to supporting a local charity which touches the hearts of many of our customers and colleagues. The scheme gives us the chance to make a real difference to important causes in the community.”
Charities wishing to be considered for Local Charity of the Year should write to Alison Morton, Sainsbury’s, 1 Common Garden Square, Penrith, Cumbria, CA11 7FG. The closing date is 11th May 2015.
