Poppy collectors will be at Sainsbury’s from Saturday 31st October to the Wednesday1!th November raising funds for The Royal British Legion, the nation’s biggest Armed Forces charity.
There will be poppy inspired products on sale in-store, with all profits going to The Royal British Legion. The range will include two poppy jute bags, tea towels and two flower bouquets. And for the first time, online customers will get the opportunity to make a donation to The Royal British Legion and receive a stick-on paper Poppy when they make an order between 23 October and 11 November 2015.
Last year, in honour of the Centenary of the First World War and our 20th year of partnership Sainsbury’s customers and colleagues helped raise £7 million for The Royal British Legion.
Sainsbury’s Store Manager, Tony Gale said:
“I’d like to thank our customers for their kind donations and support every year, the local community has been really supportive of the Poppy Appeal. Our store looks forward to all the activity we have planned to support this fantastic cause.”
After Armistice Day, customers can also choose to recycle their poppies in-store. A recycling collection point will be available at the Customer Service Desk from the 12th to 24th November. All collected poppies will go back to The Royal British Legion to either help make new poppies or to generate more funds.
