A poetically comical depiction of life in a Welsh town where the residents juggle old secrets and new realities.

Lyrically written, it’s both riotously funny and deeply moving, and although firmly rooted in place, the universality of the characters shines through, which is why it’s never been out of print, it’s been translated into around thirty different languages and is regularly performed all over the world.

We invite you to listen in on the dreams, desires and innermost thoughts of the inhabitants of the fictional small Welsh fishing village, Llareggub.

They include Mrs. Ogmore-Pritchard, relentlessly nagging her two dead husbands; Captain Cat, reliving his seafaring times; the two Mrs. Dai Breads; Organ Morgan, obsessed with his music; and Polly Garter, pining for her dead lover.

Later, as the the town awakens and goes about their daily buiness, we are now aware of how their feelings affect whatever they do.

Under Milk Wood was origionally a 1954 radio drama by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, commissioned by the BBC and later adapted for the stage. Penrith Players breathe new life into this entertaining classic.
