Out and About on a Bike
A bicycle gives you the freedom to explore the enchanting countryside at your own pace, stopping as you choose to take in the superb views, which are a special feature of these routes. If you don't wish to bring your own bike, you can hire one locally. Just call ahead and pick it up when you arrive.
National Rides
The C2C (Sea to Sea) cycle route passes through Penrith and the town has been designated Cumbria's first Cycling Hub which means that cyclists are made extra welcome and will find excellent facilities including cycle hire, cyclist-friendly accommodation and specially designed routes starting from Penrith.
Day Rides

Visit Eden have produced five circular OS mapped 'do-in-day' rides ranging from 15 to 31 miles. The eastern edge of the Lake District, the Eden, Lowther and Lyvennet Valleys, and Greystoke are all explored from the historic market town in the middle of the Eden Valley.

A number of our hotels and B&B's are also Bike Friendly, offering to store your bike overnight - perfect for those on the C2C.
