We are hugely looking forward to welcoming Booker-nominated local author Sarah Hall, who will talking about, and reading from, her latest novel, Helm, set entirely in the Eden Valley. Helm, the only named wind in Britain, is a key character in this highly unusual book that spans millennia and was 20 years in the making. Sarah is the author of six novels, including Haweswater, about the destruction of community in the making of the dam, and The Wolf Border, which explores introducing wolves to Cumbria. This promises to be a lively evening and there will be a chance to ask questions. Book at wegottickets.com/f/17865; MMVI bears the cost of the booking fee and it really helps to know numbers in advance. Our bar will be open from 6.30pm.
