What is Fika, I hear you ask? We decided we wanted to open a florists shop with a difference, which is where the word Fika comes in. Fika is Swedish for 'a social cup of coffee and eating something delicious'. So now we have a relaxed cafe area in the shop for my chef husband Lee's tasty baguettes, cakes and tray bakes to eat in or take away (try the chocolate brownie, it's fab!) Just a little bit about me - I've always loved flowers and when I was little I used to make small vases of garden flowers for our family's farmhouse B&B.

BlueJam is an innovative community music and arts organisation based in Penrith, Cumbria. We run a full programme of inclusive creative workshops, training, and professional and community performance activities and events – everything from 121 music lessons, a children’s orchestra and jazz ensembles for young people to jazz training for adults, whole school singing projects, a samba band and live streamed gigs (and most things in between!). Our specialism is improvisation, which we pursue through jazz workshops and performances, and also use as a discipline to inform the way we deliver the programmes and structure groups. We initiate and collaborate on music, film, performance and digital art-centred work, which we deliver through sessions in the community, in schools and at our Art Space.
